Dark Sun for D&D is BACK Plus More Updates From GenCon 2026
The future of Dungeons & Dragons just became a whole lot clearer and some of the biggest rumors were true! Dark Sun is officially returning to D&D in 2027 with a mature 18+ release, the Psion class, new setting books, a DM screen, map pack, and even a Dark Sun-themed Player’s Handbook. But that is only the beginning!
In this video, I break down the massive D&D announcements surrounding Gen Con 2026, including the newly revealed World of Warcraft Dungeons & Dragons book, D&D’s own Universes Beyond line, new support for Ravenloft, Eberron, Forgotten Realms, Greyhawk, and Dragonlance, major D&D Beyond updates, the upcoming Warlock video game featuring Tasha, and Wizards of the Coast’s roadmap for the future of D&D.
We also take a closer look at the return of Dark Sun, why this version may be far less sanitized than fans feared, what the new Icons program could mean for legendary D&D creators like Luke Gygax, Margaret Weis, Tracy Hickman, R.A.
