One of the best things about Dungeons and Dragons is the ability to craft unique items and rules that simply do not exist in any given book.
These are called ‘homebrewed’ elements.
Not all of them are universally accepted and when someone offers one out there for general consumption, it is common practice for a DM to homebrew that element even further so that it can fir into their campaign.
