Evolution of the HARM Spell in D&D: From 1st Edition to 2024!
Today we take a deep dive into the evolution of the Harm spell in Dungeons & Dragons, tracing its journey from the 1st Edition of Advanced D&D to the latest 2024 Player’s Handbook. Did you know that Harm didn’t originally exist as its own spell? Instead, it was a reversible version of the Heal spell under the Necromancy school of magic. From its early days of reducing a target to just 1d4 hit points, to its ability to deal massive damage in later editions, Harm has undergone significant changes over the years.
