Blizzard Posts: Developer Q&A on February 23rd, Legendary Drop Rate Clarifications, Ending Support for Windows XP

Our round of Blizzard posts for February 17th includes information on an upcoming Developer Q&A, clarifications on legendary drop rate changes in recent patches, and some PTR clarifications. The biggest takeaway from the legendary post was that the chance to get a legendary does not decrease after your third one – acquiring the third one is at the same chance as acquiring your seventh one, for example. Check out our Legion Legendary Guide for more details about these types of items.

Valentine's Day

Never mind that yuan-ti developed a philosophy separating their emotions from intellectual pursuits, they still demanded to be featured on this year’s Valentine’s Day card. Perhaps they’re not so coldblooded after all… then again, this could be just another plot to infiltrate and conquer human society!

In any case, to make things easier (and maybe give your Charisma a bump), we created these special Valentine’s Day cards for you to send to the ones you love. Or at least kind of care about.

Happy Valentine’s Day!

Warlock and Wizard

Subtitle:
Unearthed Arcana
Banner:
Text:

The warlock and the wizard reach new arcane horizons this week. The warlock receives two playtest options for the Otherworldly Patron feature: the Hexblade and the Raven Queen. That class also gets a collection of playtest options for its Eldritch Invocations feature. Meanwhile, the wizard receives a playtest option for the Arcane Tradition feature: Lore Mastery.

Give the new options a read, try them out in play, and let us know what you think in the survey we’ll provide next week.

The material here is presented for playtesting and to spark your imagination. These game mechanics are in draft form, usable in your campaign but not refined by design iterations or full game development. They are not officially part of the game. For these reasons, material in this column is not legal in D&D Adventurers League events.

Sorcerer Survey

Now that you’ve had a chance to read and ponder the sorcerer options from last week, we’re ready for you to give us your feedback about them in the following survey.

About the Current UA Series

We have a bunch of D&D content for you to playtest, discuss, and mull over. We have enough material, in fact, that we will be releasing Unearthed Arcana multiple times a month for the next few months. Look for the material on Mondays. We’ll take the things you love and refine them, and we’ll take the things you don’t like and either toss them out or rebuild them. Either way, your feedback is invaluable.

Because both of us—Mike Mearls and Jeremy Crawford—are working on Unearthed Arcana for the foreseeable future, the Sage Advice column will be on hold temporarily. In the meantime, Jeremy will continue to provide official rules answers on Twitter (@JeremyECrawford), as well as in the new Sage Advice segment in the Dragon Talk podcast.
